Fashion Friday: Velvet Jacket Edition

TGIF right? It’s been a busy week around here so today’s Fashion Friday is really a What I Wore for a little real life mom fashion. 
I love jackets, don’t you? Multiple layers always add texture and make an outfit look multi-dimensional and more “put together”. Jackets can be truly flattering if they are cut correctly for your shape. 
I found this lovely green velvet jacket at the LOFT a couple months ago, but hadn’t figured out how to wear it yet. Well I love how it looks over top these light khaki pants. The top underneath is a fitted shell in ivory with a lace overlay for a very feminine touch. The scarf came from Old Navy, the brown leather ankle boots are one of my favorite pairs by Merona from Target. Earrings are Premier Designs and the gold stretch bracelet is J. Crew. 

Of course now it’s 80 degrees in Houston again so I won’t likely be wearing this velvet jacket again for awhile!

Fashion Friday: Gorgeous Cuffs

I have a bit of an obsession with jewelry. All kinds, really…costume, fine, silver and gold. Lately I’ve been really into cuff bracelets. I have a few but am somewhat limited in what I can wear because of my exceptionally tiny wrists and hands. Most cuffs are one size and way too big for me…I’ve bought some before that I ended up taking back because they slid right off.

So allow me to highlight some of the lovely cuffs of various styles I have been eyeballing lately.

I love this first one but it kills me that I don’t know where it came from.

Then of course there are gorgeous high end designer ones like this from YSL.

But I also have a serious passion for leather cuffs. They are a bit edgier and more casual. Case in point, this one from Calypso St. Barthe I would totally buy if it weren’t already out of stock. In a heartbeat.

And then there is this one I found on etsy that has amazing detail. For only $23.50 it’s a steal and I can’t believe I haven’t bought it yet. 
Also leather but totally different is this fun floral cuff, also available via etsy for a mere $9.

Finally for purely fantasy eye candy purposes, you’ve got to check out this stunner from designer Sutra Jewels, available at Zadok here in Houston. I have no idea how much it costs, but I’m sure it’s plenty.
