One Big Upside of the DROID Razr

Photo taken with the RAZR. Great depth of field!

So I’ve been using my new Motorola DROID Razr for a little while now and getting a pretty good feel for some of its features. I love how sleek and light it is and the screen graphics kind of blow my mind. The 4G LTE on Verizon is exactly as described on the TV commercials…”lightning fast”, but it comes with the downside of somewhat shorter battery life when you leave it on 4G all the time. That’s well known on all 4G devices though.

The big thing that I discovered while using Android for the first time was its seamless integration with all things Google. Now unlike my dear friend Jo-Lynne, I am not that big a Google docs or Gmail user, but I do have a Gmail account. My husband tells me I should use Gmail a lot more than I do. I was amazed by how incredibly easy it was to set up my email on the Razr…something I have trouble with on the iPhone (it still doesn’t work right). But even more cool in my book was how all the various places my Google profile uses are tied together and easily accessible on the Android phone.

The big one for me was Picasa because I use it a lot. I take a ton of photos on the Razr because the camera is ridiculously good and I can automatically upload them to my Picasa account, which is already where I store photos used on this blog and for other purposes. It’s so great to never need to use a cable to move photos from the phone to my laptop where I do most of my blogging!

So yes, Google is taking over the world but as long as they are highly functional I’m not complaining. I haven’t even moved this blog away from Blogger yet despite years of constant advice to do so.
