Backyard Football and iMovie

Over the course of my blogging career I have occasionally created videos, some of which were for the purpose of entering contests. I have used a Flip, an iPhone camera, my DSLR, and now my Motorola XY Board tablet. I pretty much struggled along with Windows Movie Maker to edit and produce these videos. I usually lost these contests to some other very creative blogger lady who used iMovie to create her movie on a Mac. I was jealous of their tools.

So now I have my first Mac and iMovie. This weekend I decided to try it out and piece together several video clips of my kids playing football in the backyard. What surprised me was iMovie was not easy to figure out. I assumed it would be easier than WMM and super intuitive. Far from it.

I figured out the very basics, but nothing fancy. So here is the resultant video, which I think is pretty funny and cute. Can you tell which kid is the natural athlete?

This video was shot with my Motorola XYBoard, given to me as a Verizon Wireless Ambassador. I am pleased with the quality of the original footage. I used a cool app from Verizon to transfer the footage via wifi to my Mac for editing. Hopefully as I learn to work with iMovie my videos will get a little more creative and polished.
